Dr. Martinez has been wonderful. A very caring and competent physician. I feel blessed that my eyes were in his care. I have also been very impressed with the entire staff. All are very professional as well as friendly.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. The office has a nice calm feel to it. Dr. Nima (as he likes to be called), was attentive, informative and engaging. He answered my questions and explained to me each step. The techs also explained what was being done. Very nice experience from beginning to end. The customer service /client care that VED provides is outstanding. With every visit, I leave the office knowing that I have received the best of care from the very best, i.e., Dr. Middleton. Getting an appt. was easy online, the check in process was quick and easy, and I was seen on time. Every staff member I worked with was friendly and helpful. The entire process was well organized and easy. The glasses tech Jorge was very friendly and made the eyeglasses portion of my visit easy and fun. I overall was very satisfied with my visit and would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

Great job! The staff was very nice and rescheduled my appointment the same day when it was entirely my fault for forgetting it. The assistants were all very professional and nice. Dr. Maliha Saeed was fantastic as alway, with the highest level of professionalism, attention to detail, and patient care. The drs and techs during the visit were great. I get all my questions answered and am treated with kindness and respect. The mobile check-in email I got was exciting and I did everything I would at the kiosk to save time. Unfortunately, I was asked to do the entire process again when I got to my appt and the receptionist verified most of the info yet again. That means I went over the same info three times. I understand the need to be correct but this seems like overkill.

When I told you I don't have voice mail, I meant I don't have an iPhone, or Android, or any other smart phone capable of clicking on a link in a text message. I have an iMac computer for connecting to the internet, and sending and receiving email. Text messages, while I can receive and send them, are not email. Please use my email address, not cell phone text, for all future messages as I requested yesterday.

I came into the surgical center and was met by the friendly receptionist. I answered her questions. Then, I met with a very nice nurse who reviewed my prescriptions. Then, I met with another nurse who did a great job putting I.v. In my arm. The laser procedure was interesting and quick but I did not know I would be awake for it! It was fine. I met with anasthesiologist and she sedated me. Seems like I was not in surgery for very long! It was a good experience with some caring medical professionals.

Had a wonderful first appointment- from the first staff I met to the last, all were highly professional and warm and caring. Dr. Hammer was the perfect choice for me as I transitioned to your practice after years of seeing another ophthalmologist who I trusted with my vision. After my first visit I believe I now have a new ophthalmologist I can trust in.

This was the first time that I didn't have to wait a long period of time to see the doctor. That was my only complaint on previous occasions. Hopefully it will remain this way.

My visit was very good. Dr. Martinez was, as usual very positive in his attitude. He was reassuring about the results of my cataract surgery. He even called me the evenings after the surgery to see how I was doing. I can't recommend your practice highly enough.

A busy yet well run organization- friendly and very professional

Unfortunately my eyes have developed cataracts after cataract surgery but the change of eyesight was gradual and within 6 months of my last eye check up my visión worsen. Laser eye surgery was needed to correct my visión on the left eye. Examination of the right eye confirmed it also needs laser eye surgery. I am seeing very well through my left eye and hope to see better or just as well once my right eye has had laser eye surgery. Visionary Eye Doctors are very dedicated individuals who care about their patients well being. The staff is multi-lingual and very helpful supporting the doctors. Thank you for all you have done. I can do for my self and others thanks to you.

I have truly enjoyed my experience with Visionsary Eye, especially their DC office. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I found the check-in process very frustrating. I have great difficulty seeing the lettering on the screen, & didn’t have any help. I later found that I could have asked for assistance, even though I informed the receptionist how difficult it was for me. I feel that if I have an appointment, I should only have to tell the receptionist that I’m precent.

This practice is amazing! I am especially fond of its DC location at VanNess. From the moment of check-in all throughout the visit I feel welcome, not just one of many patients but an individual with very particular needs and concerns listened to. Dr.Moani is exceptionaly professional, knowledgeable and warm which really is a key to doctor-patient relationship. I can freely express myself despite sometimes challenging terminology without worry of being misunderstood or even made fun of. All in all, the office provides an example of what a modern ophthalmology practice should be like.

Everyone was super nice and efficient. Although I was there for an hour it didn't feel like it. I was being attended at all times and waited very little between transition. The staff was especially nice and clarified terms I didn't understand. Overall 5/5 and I will be returning.

Dr. Hosseini is one of the best medical providers I have ever had. I have recommended all my family and friends see him. Marvin was also wonderful. I understand he is busy precisely because he is so great, he wants to serve as many patients are possible, and in order to be accessible to people of many incomes you have to have a high volume of patients, but the wait to see him feels long and the appointment is a bit short. It makes it difficult to plan for the day.

All of the staff are courteous, professional, and responsive. Dr. Sarezky is always very thorough, attentive, spends as much time as necessary to explain everything, answer questions, and perform all needed or indicated procedures. He is very knowledgeable and personable.

Dr Housenni was great for his first time contact lens fitting . But the girl (Spanish? dark hair and eyes with black glasses) afterwards who was supposed to show Joel the class video of how to do his contact lens left him to tend to 2 or 3 other clients. Joel ruined one pair of his trial lenses because he didn't know to wait for her for assistance. He said he was just following what the video told him to do by himself.

The wait time was short - Dr Moainie was extremely efficient and explained everything that he was doing very clearly - and his explanations of the results - and his answers to my questions were equally clear and helpful. This doctor came highly recommended by my PCP - and the visit acceded expectations

Dr Hosseini was great. Very caring and detailed. The office is very automated and regimented which has good and bad points. You move the patient through pretty efficiently but you make me scan the same cards every week and you repeated tests two weeks in a row, even when I questioned it (testers had no autonomy to make those decisions). I hope my insurance doesn't deny duplicate tests.

Asked for copies of the signed releases several times before receiving. Was overlooked when waiting to get detailed cost information on next visit. When inquiring the desk staff spoke about me to the specialist in Spanish which I found to be rude and offensive since I did not make inquiry in Spanish. These actions overshadowed the otherwise professional appearance of the practice.

I told every person except Dr. Cremers that I wanted an updated prescription to get sunglasses. My prescription hasn’t changed that much in the last year and I thought they could just use last year‘s prescription and update the date. I thought that was going to happen upon check out and it didn’t. I didn’t think it was necessary to come back a different day and pay $69 when my prescription is fine. All I need is a new signature and a new date on the old prescription.

Dr. Friedman is a life force! He knows how to interact the best with patients; is knowledgeable and up-to-date; he is the only reason I come to Visionary Eye Doctors.

So far I've been very pleased what's the service I've been getting. Up until my last appointment which was September 13th 2019. As I was checking out I was giving my next appointment date I was told I owed $67 for a prescription. I have never paid for a prescription or was told that my insurance did not cover the prescription. I have received a prescription for glasses before and was never charged. Please explain!! I was then told by the receptionist at the sign a waiver where I wouldn't have to pay anything. I didn't get a chance to read it because she was saying it was all written down and I could read it my eyes were dilated so I couldn't read it I did bring a copy home still please explain what is it saying. That why was there a charge for writing a prescription for glasses?

I would have given 5 Stars, but the checkin procedure is a bit much. I was sent a mobile update which I completed, but once there much of the same info had to be re-entered. It needs to be streamlined. If there’s no change in Insurance, etc. A simple confirmation would be much preferred.

The sign in could be simplified. Since you have all patient information to email notices, there is no reason to go through the annoying process of "signing in" by using driver's license, health cards, and other things. You also know if it has been more than a year, in which case it makes sense to ask for current information. But you also have that information. Thus, a check-in with the receptionist should be sufficient in every instance unless the patient provides updated information at the visit.

Dr. Cremers is a visionary Doctor. My dry eyes feel so much better after Platelet Rich Plasma injections into my meibomian glands. She thinks outside the box. Very attentive to my needs as a patient. Great staff as well.

The best vision examination I have ever had

Everybody was so kind & handled things quickly. One thing I have a question. I paid some amount of bill without knowing what that was for because I trusted you. I have 2 insurances - medicare & supplement insurance. Normally these 2 insurances covers 100% of medical bill. I believe there was reason to pay from my pocket but no one explained why.

You let me know the doctor was running late (but my appointment still was within the expected times that I was told it would take), every staff member identified themselves, were courteous and friendly, and answered all my questions and explained what they were doing. Dr Martinez was very friendly, informative, and supportive in every way. I trust everyone I met and dealt with.

In as much as I have no commercial insurance but rely on Medicare (through Kaiser Permanente) always in the past your staff submitted my bill to Kaiser/medicare and later I would get the bill in the mail for whatever Medicare didn't pay. This now has obviously changed and I was charged in the office the full $250 for my annual exam and was told that I needed to submit the bill myself in order to be re-imbursed. Always a bit of a delay to see the doctor, but what I would like most to see improved is to have the doctor explain what he puts in the report. It’s lingo. I can look up the words, but I don’t know the relative importance, and I would like an explanation rather than “Everything is okay.”

Everything went smoothly. I enjoyed checking in at the kiosk and updating my insurance information, paying my outstanding balance of $9 and being called within five minutes. The kiosk is the best thing since sliced bread because you can easily do all the things I mentioned above in total privacy. (No sharing my personal business at the front desk with everyone in the lobby!) Thank you Dr Martinez for making you practice one of the best with the latest modern technology! My actual visit was great as well. I stayed a little under 10 minutes to see the actual doctor. That is much better than some other doctor appointments. All the techs were very efficient. I dread the visual field test, but Francois let's you know how you're doing and gives you a sense of how far along you are in the test. It made the test seem shorter and more tolerable this time.

All of the staff were very nice and professional. Dr. Allen is awesome. The check in process was backed up when I arrived which can be from user error or from it not being user friendly. Also, I made an edit when I checked in which did not cross over to the person at the front desk who asked some of the same questions that the electronic check in asked. The check in process is therefore redundant and inefficient. Otherwise you are doing a great job!

When I see Dr. J. Alberto Martinez he always examines my eyes thoroughly, asks questions about any eye issues I may have and carefully explains any recommended treatment and likely outcome. He always asks if I have any questions and he patiently answers them in language that I understand. He gives me his full attention and doesn't rush me. Dr. Martinez and his staff seem to be dedicated to providing the highest possible care for their patients. I doubt that I could get better eyecare anywhere else.

This doctor saw me immediately as a referral, examined me upon arrival without making me wait for a long time to get in, and went to task to address my concerns and issues. When I arrived, he did a vision test to determine that I was still able to see well, and then proceeded to analyze what could be causing the inflammation I was experiencing. I believe he was spot on, and quite knowledgeable about the matter. Overall, I was very pleased – the only reason I didn’t give my visit a five star overall rating is that I felt that the doctor could have exhibited a more pleasant “bedside manner”. A doctor who has a pleasant smile, or reassuring words, goes a long way when a patient is experiencing a sudden medical issue. Otherwise, it was perfect. I appreciate the care that I received, and I would definitely recommend the practice to friends and family.

Dr. Myeni saved my dad’s vision during an emergency situation. While others were not willing to operate, she provided excellent, quick and effective surgical options. My dad is so appreciative to have gained what was considered lost. We are eternally grateful. Merry Christmas indeed.

Since the remodel of the office, it's much nicer. Wide open so you don't feel claustrophobic. You don't have to wait long., which is a biggie. The staff are always pleasant, friendly and helpful. They have some of the most up to date equipment to diagnose eye problems. I always enjoy talking to Francois and Dr Friedman. Very nice experience.

Dr. Middleton is acceptional! She is very professional and truly a gifted medical practitioner. The supporting staffers are wonderful as well. Dr Kofman is my eye doctor. He is experienced, very professional, caring and friendly. He takes enough time to answer to all my questions. Dr Kremers is professional also, but she speaks too fast for me so that sometimes I have to ask the same questions many times to understand her explanations. The wait time is too long. The exam is so thorough and everything is explained in a way that can be easily understood and acted on. I always am very pleased with the eye exams. There was, however, a strange interaction with the person at the desk. She told me that I no longer had VSP coverage and would therefore have to pay a balance. I assured her that I did and had to go back to work the next to verify. When I called back to Visionary, the person that I spoke with had no problems verifying my coverage. It baffles me what that first staff person must have been doing.

My first visit there were no pain or redness. My second and third visit I experience redness and pain. Most of the time I have problems with numnist being effective.

The actual exams went well. Sometimes the waiting between exams led to wondering if the correct person was going to do the exams. Everyone was polite and considerate and that helped make the entire exam very palateable.

The staff is very pleasant and helpful. I have problems with having to pay anywhere between $6-$10 to park and that the appt tends to take 2 hours each time we come.

Nima's taking the time to show me on the screen my eve images, pointing out the drusin and explaining what they mean re my macular degeneration was very, very helpful, plus discussing realistically what help is and is not presently known/available.

Dr Friedman has both professional medical skills as well as interpersonal. His staff both at the front desk and his assistant who conducted various eye tests on me are to be commended for also being very professional.

My experience at Visionary Eye Doctors was truly amazing. I was in disbelief when looking for eye-care providers saw an opening the next day as compared to the majority of places with waiting time 2-3 weeks. I made an appointment through ZocDoc, but they often have inaccurate info on times and availability of doctors. The VED practice gave me a call advising to re-schedule the appointment for an earlier time, and contacted me half an hour before the opening time to confirm a new time. I was so grateful to be seen in the midst of a severe crisis affecting one of my eyes. The registration procedure is very easy-just screen touch machine instead of tons of paperwork. The atmosphere in the waiting room was very friendly as patients were chatting quietly mostly commenting on the professionalism of the staff. I was first seen by “Francois” (Xavier) who performed tons of screening tests with great care, competence and additional questions about my eye health history. His patience was truly outstanding! He was not in a rush to get the set-up for a certain test right even though the office is very fast paced. And then I got the privilege to be seen by Dr. Thandeka Myerni, MD, MPH. She immediately put me at ease by her manner of going over my medical history, asking about the most urgent needs and demonstrated focus on me and my needs and concerns. This was truly incredible-she managed to explain certain innovations in eye-sight restoration techniques, discussed new meds for dry eye and blepharitis, gave me some much needed RXs to calm down “my eyes” and provided a referral for her colleague who specializes in ailments effecting my eyes. By the time I was finished I was in disbelief at the quality of treatment I have received at each point of my visit. This place should be a model for practices like this-“one stop care and emotional support.” I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested to be taken seriously for whatever eye problems they might have or just to get full-scale eye exam. Thank you for the help provided and restoration of my eye health!

Dr cremers treats me with respect and has much empathy for my painful condition. Very knowledgeable, offers many treatment options, answers all of my questions. High energy, professional, greets me with a handshake and genuine smile. Wish i would have found her years ago, i probably wouldn't have the problems i have now.

I found out about this place coming with my girlfriend to her appointment. I thought the place was very nice, the staff was very knowledgeable and personable and they also have state of the art equipment. I can appreciate the level of care I receive when coming here.

The sign in process is too cumbersome and time consuming. I had to wait 10-15 minutes for a screen. Because there is scanning and scanning of both sides of cards and there are so many questions to answer once one figures out how to use the screen and scanner, each person registering takes a long time. Both terminals were taken by the two other people who walked in the door with me. Even the man after me was grumbling. And then one wonders why there are so many people sitting at the front desk if not to sign people in? I think there were 4. The office feels even more "clinic" like this year than last, and not so much like a private practice. So many steps and waiting room after waiting room after waiting hall prior to finally seeing the physician. I put up with it because eventually I get to see Dr. Kaufman, and at this point it's only once a year. Your technicians, Dr. Kaufman's scribe and of course Dr. Kaufman were all superb. But the process....

I received help when I had problems with signing in using the kiosk. Francois, took 7 tries to apply the injection. But he was determined to get blood!! So apologetic!! Dr. Serrano was patient eventhough the pics that Francois took would not transfer. Everyone was patient. It was a good day.

From the very beginning I knew I was going to be treated well. Every member on the staff from the receptionist to the medical techs lead you through every step of the tests and procedures. They constantly ask if you have any questions and treat you like you are one of their family. Dr. Mendez has the best bedside manner I have ever seen. I honestly don't know how anyone could improve their operation, it is a well oiled machine!

The appointment time was accurate with out extended wait time and overbooking. I always appreciate when appointment time is honored. The staff was great and tentative to my needs. The doctor was very personable and listen to my concerns and let me know I would be in good care.

Dr Cremers was wonderful,: knowledgeable, enthusiastic, skilled prober of meibomian gland ducts, and seemed very interested in helping me get my life back. I expect to see her again in a month or two. Small complaint: In my social history, you have me down as a smoker who never drinks alcohol. You got it backwards. I have never smoked but occasionally drink, about 50% of the time I have a glass of beer with dinner.

I go there only because of Dr. Cremers and my dry eye problems. 2- 1/2 hour wait yesterday....which is about normal. Bring a book and prepare to pay a lot for parking. I would NEVER go there for just a normal vision or eyeglass appointment. 5 stars for the dr. and her assistants. One star for the disorganization, overbooking and consistently unnecessarily long waiting times

I appreciate all the investment you are quite clearly making in helping to make the practice more efficient and effective: state of the start technology, well-trained techs, outstanding doctors. Even the sign-in kiosks improve the patient experience. I was able to get a next-day appointment with my own doctor for a medical concern, which was astonishing and much-appreciated. The tech was outstanding too. My only negative comment is that I waited 50 minutes to see the doctor after the tech finished with his part--and then, only because I started speaking up about the long wait. I will always recommend your practice to others because, bottom line, our eye health is phenomenally precious, and your practice provides phenomenal care. Thank you!

Outstanding care. All tests were well explained and results thoroughly reviewed with me. As usual the down side is the wait. I arrived at 10:45 for what I thought was an 11am appointment. It turns out my appointment was for 11:15a. Including my 30 minute early arrival I left the office at 1:30pm. That’s a long wait for a routine 6 month follow up appointment. I understand completely - there were difficult cases ahead of me and I am thankful Dr. Martinez spends as much time as he does with complex cases; that’s why we go to him 😄. Now that I’m retired I don’t mind the wait as much, I bring a book.

The request for an appointment was not made in advance but the same day and that was very much appreciated.

There is no reason to require returning patients, even those returning after six months, to spend annoying time entering information on the computer screen when that information is already available. What should be done is to present the current information and ask if there are any changes; then the person can enter the changes. It is annoying to enter data already in the system and, when asking why, to be told it is "required because you have not been here in over six months." Fix it so patients have to enter ONLY changed information, not waste time repeatedly entering information already there.
