My visit went well. I wish you could have a better selection of frames. I like Coach eyewear and all your frames look alike. The lighting near the frames needs to be brighter so you can get a better look when trying on frames.

Overall, the medical care is excellent. The one area I would work on is optical. It really took too long for optical staff to work out insurance for contact lenses. I was there twice as long as I was with the Dr. They also did a complete price quote on eye glasses but then I was told insurance wouldn’t cover until July. Rather than have me go through all that benefits should be checked thoroughly BEFORE I am asked to shop for eye ware .

The young woman who checked me in and conducted the preliminary tests was excellent. She was a perfect balance of professionalism, politeness, friendliness, humor and expertise. An absolute delight! Dr. Embrey was excellent in all the above, as well. She was kind, intelligent, exceedingly helpful, honest and trustworthy. I was most impressed with the both the assistant and the doctor. The last stage of my Spectrum experience was an outlier in that it did not match the quality of my experience with Dr. Embrey and the assistant (Rachel). It started with the assumption that I would purchase eyeglasses. With the disruption of the eyeglass industry starting with Warby Parker, consumers have many more cost efficient choices and have a greater understanding of the high mark ups on eyewear. I had to ask for my prescription and when I asked if I could take my prescription and have it filled at other eyeglass stores she reluctantly said “yes but couldn’t guarantee the same quality”. The upshot was that the final stage of the Spectrum experience can leave one with a negative mismatch. What Spectrum ought to do is recognize the industry has been changed and that they will need to adapt or face a steady decline in eyeglasses sales. Having the sales folks treat customers in a begrudgingly helpful way is not productive. Incidentally, a quick price comparison for a $730 pair of Spectrum eyeglasses was $289 and under $200 (Warby Parker). Five stars to Rachel & Dr. Embrey ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One star to sales person ⭐️ ‘though I recognize that she may be in a difficult position with sales goals and circumstances out of her control.

I've been a client of spectrum eye care for over 10 years. Since I retired and no longer worked Uptown Charlotte I transferred my account from College to the Colony Rd office. I was very pleased to get the same high standard of customer service at Colony Rd that I had previously received Uptown. Everyone was very pleasant and highly professional ensuring all measurements and findings were exactly accurate. One of the things I really like about Spectrum is they carry Maui Jim (MJ) prescription sunglasses which I consider the best ever made for color saturation, UV and blue light filtering etc. There is nothing quite like MJs and they have a good selection of MJ frames at Colony Rd. Thanks to everyone there.

Amazing customer service and eye care. I injured my eye and was in a great deal of pain. After calling a few other places and being told they were booked, the receptionist at Spectrum went out of her way to speak with the doctors to see if they could work me into their busy schedule. Visits to your office are always efficient. The staff is very friendly, and the facility is lovely. My only suggestion is based off of an experience I had a few years ago at your office. At that particular visit, the assistant who performed the basic tests let me know what my insurance covered for new glasses/contacts. So, before I even saw the doctor, I knew what was available to me. I loved that! I selected new glasses immediately. Insurance is confusing, and I loved having someone tell me what my options were without having to ask. It’s a small thing, just something that I personally appreciated. But overall, I think you have a wonderful office!

I very much enjoyed my visit. The only recommendation that I have is for the opticians to slow down and explain all of the add ons for glasses. The person who ordered my glasses did not explain any of the add on, cost , etc. When I came out of my exam, I mentioned that the Dr suggested a lens that could help with close up. ( don’t know what it was called. ) the optician said “yes, I already added that and was going to take it off of needed” or something similar. It was very annoying and made me wonder if I was paying for a ton of extras I didn’t want. Same goes for my son’s glasses order. Nothing was explained there. I should add that I picked out my frame prior to the exam.

I’ve been coming to see Dr. Wichnoski for 11 years now. When I first moved to Charlotte I didn’t have an eye doctor yet, and Spectrum was in my office building, so that’s how I became a patient. I keep coming back because he and his entire staff have always been phenomenal (I’ve now been to both the Uptown and Colony locations). I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such an efficient medical practice of any kind. Everyone is friendly and helpful, I’ve never had to wait, and the advice/care is top notch. I count my blessings every year he’s still practicing in Charlotte! Most places fail to realize that patients are actually clients and can choose where they go. Thank you all for being so great.

I made a last minute appointment and did not have to wait hardly at all to see Dr Wichnoski. Everyone there is so friendly and efficient. Dr Wichnoski always takes the time to listen and answer my questions. I think he is a very good doctor and very patient and kind.

The entire staff is friendly and professional. I had less than a five minute wait. The initial assistant was courteous and did her job with confidence. Dr. Wichnoski took the time with me that was needed. I’m always very pleased coming to Spectrum Eye Care.

Meeting with the optometrist was great, especially when examining my young daughter for her first eye exam. However the checking in process and all the procedures to be done prior to meeting Dr. Edwards was a bit awkward as the aide/ assistant appeared to not know how to talk or direct my young child appropriately to get the information she needed. The optician was very helpful and was not all pushy to be sure I had to buy anything that day.

Hi there! This was my first visit to the office and I was a bit put off by the exam. I’ve worn contacts for 15 years and this was the first exam I’ve had where the doctor didn’t look at the lenses on my eyes to make sure they were sitting correctly. It appears that was glossed over during the exam. Also, as I had already taken my contacts out by the time the doctor came in, I was unable to see her clearly. It was a bit uncomfortable not being able to meet someone with full vision. It would have been nice to have her stop in prior to that stage in the exam, especially as it would give her time to view the contacts while in. I would’ve also preferred that the doctor run some of the initial vision tests in the exam room like the reading chart. I understand some of the machines to be test prescription to be run by the tech, but not pieces that I consider to be major parts of the exam. This was the first time in 20 years of going to an optometrist that the assistant essentially performed the exam. I’m sure this model is in place to allow the doctor to see a greater number of patients in the day and drive up revenue, but it made me question if there is enough focus on quality and patients.

Welcoming and friendly staff, no wait times, knowledgeable and great patient care, just an overall fantastic experience - recommend to all my friends/family.
