These are the best glasses I have had for a while. I can actually see with both eyes close, far and on the computer . One suggestion… I drive to Folsom to meet with Dr Liley since I have had cornea transplants and he is one of the few people who know how to deal with that, but when I was waiting to pick up my glasses, someone’s glasses had been delivered to midtown by mistake and when I asked, they said I could have asked to pick up my glasses in midtown ( I’d been there all morning) or at Orangevale near where I work instead of driving to Folsom. You might let people know that they have a choice. The service was fine.

I got there early for my appointment. I felt like I was ignored and had to wait too long. If the doctor was running late, it would have been nice to know. Instead, it seemed like another patient or two was squeezed in ahead of me or perhaps they had arrived late for their appointment(s). Otherwise, everything was excellent.

I am a 20 years plus patient of Dr Tomita, have extensive myopia and recent cataract requiring complex glasses prescriptions, 3 different ones for distance vs computer vs reading, not to mention the occasional sun glasses prescription. Patsy does an OUTSTANDING job working thru these prescription details, and the lab follow ups to ensure a satisfied customer! Thank You!!

Very courteous and a thorough examination. The only reason for 4 stars was because of the mask requirements. Very dehumanizing and unsettling. VERY hard to understand and hear when people are talking to me. And when you are discussing my eye health it is extremely important to be able to hear everything. Masks were designed to prevent bacteria from spreading when in a sterile environment, not viruses, they are a placebo.

The tech that did my tests was super nice and explained what he would be doing prior to doing it which helped with my anxiety. Before my appt the receptionist was very sweet and confirmed my insurance and let me look at some frames. The doctor was super sweet as well and helped me understand why the prescription would help correct my vision. Lastly Katie helped me place my glasses order and was able to be flexible on my order so I could call the next day to have it placed once I got my paycheck. Overall a super sweet practice of people and I’m happy I switched!

Patsy was very helpful in helping me pick my specs. She went above and beyond to help me find glasses with spring hinges and addressed my concern of the glasses slipping off my nose. She was very polite and was a great listener.

Every single staff member from the technician to the doctor to the optician was extremely welcoming and friendly. This was my first time at the Folsom location and I had a really great experience.

Chris and the other person in the office helped us find the frames we liked. I have a narrow face and need 48-49 mm frames, are very lightweight that also have adjustable nose pieces. Chris found the only 2 options that would work and I picked one of those. I used to always order the petite Skaga frames because they were fashionable, titanium and so very light weight. I really wish there was that option still available for me. I am making it work with the few options still in the office.

Always very friendly and was fast service. I went in to exchange my frames under warranty, and it only took about 5 minutes to swap out the lenses into the new frames. It was very fast. Thank you so much.

Then when I asked if she might have a cleaning cloth for my glasses that I could have or buy - she brought me the cleaning cloth and said “no charge”. I really liked the personal attention given to meet me when trying on eyeglasses.

First of all, I was in the office to get my eyes checked and then to pick our a new pair of frames. Kati was helping me and I told her that I was never happy with my previous glasses I purchased a while back at Eye Center. The frame didn't look the same as the one I tried on in the office. It was a mystery as to why it was different, because when comparing them side by side they did look the same, but then when I would put them both on, there was a slight difference. Also, to my disappointment I never got complimented on my new glasses! When I talked to Kati at the Folsom office she listened to my concern and agreed that they were different. It's good to be heard and not think you're crazy! She ordered a new pair of glasses for me free of charge with my old prescription which was fine with me. She used the frame from the office because that was the one I loved. I was so pleased and happy afterwards! Kati is very good at what she does and she made my day! It speaks well for a company who stands behind their products and their customers. I'll let my friends know about Eye Center if their looking for a place to get glasses or contacts. Thank you!!!

More than satisfied as usual

Eye center employees and dr were great. There has never been a time that I purchased glasses that I have not had to return and have the lenses changed one or two times. Not sure what lab is used , but it could make me change offices. This is extremely frustrating.

First impression is great, nice ambiance, waiting area is neat, clean and with hand sanitizers on each table. Displays are done well. But most important, as soon as you walk in the receptionist immediately greets you even tho she may have other patients in line. My experience was Tanya was amazing. My glasses weren’t to my satisfaction and could have been a negative, but instead she made me feel like she would do whatever that made me happy & satisfied. She is knowledgeable and friendly! The best combo and the Folsom Ctr is fortunate to have her on staff! What an asset and especially when great employees are hard to find and keep. Dr. K Tomita is outstanding as my optician. I can’t say enough positives about this Folsom location!! Thank you ALL!!

I was told when I made the appointment that there wouldn’t be any charge for this pressure check by Dr. Tomita. So I wasn’t prepared with my HSA card to pay the co-pay while in the office. Additionally, when I called to give them the number. I got a call center who said They couldn’t take my card, even though the woman at the office said I could. Then the office too was busy (with a patient, I’m a patient too) to take the info when the operator tried to transfer me. Very frustrating all around (except Dr. Tomita who was wonderful, as usual)

I made a appointment on the fly and they took me right away and when I got , I must of waited less then a minute and they took care of me, that is great service.

Great routine appointment today with a new doctor. My family has been coming to eccentric for years and generally been seen by Dr Larsen. I saw a new doctor today and loved her. She took unrushed time with me to explain my visual condition and was very pleasant throughout. I also thoroughly enjoyed her assistant and the woman who directed me to eyeglasses after the appointment. This will continue to be our place to go for glasses as the years roll on.

Loved the tech who did my scans/photos. Love my new eye Dr. (now that Dr. Larson has retired). Love the gal who helped me select new frames and sunglasses. Didn’t work with Patsy this time, but I always love her! Did not care for Jordyn. Started me off with a bad vibe. Not much of a welcome. Sort of handed me a lap board and papers as if I was a new client. I asked if this was just for an update. (Yes) I guess it was the way she did it and the way she said it, or maybe what she didn’t say? It seemed very unwelcoming and was off putting. Having this be my first visit since Dr Larsen retired, I guess I was hesitant. That experience didn’t set well and made me wonder if I would continue to go to this place as my eye care provider. But the rest of the visit was wonderful; and so I feel good about that.

Dr. Lump was really good and I felt like I was cared for. The front staff were nice but I did hear them gossiping but still a great experience. The optomitrist tech person who walked me to the exam room was nice and welcoming but I forgot her name. All in all a good experience. I ended up there for less than 2 hours as I was a first time patient and Dr. Lump had to further evaluate a scar on my right eye but turned out to be nothing. Great experience would recommend.

Dr Larson went out of his way in 06-07-21 un helping me, I went to the Eye Center in Folsom without an appointment and he was with his last patient at that time and about to go home right after and he nicely came to me and helped with a new eye prescription that I needed immediately, I’m definitely going to miss him when he retires and I always strongly recommend this place to my family and friends!

I went in to get my glasses but the lab accidentally switched my lens to another pair of glasses which means I have to wait another week or so to get them. But it’s not big deal every one was super nice like always!

The staff is always professional and patient. They are wonderful at explaining things and assisting their patients in finding the best frames and lenses. I actually look forward to my yearly appointment. Too bad the going to the dentist can’t be as much fun.

All staff were professional and cheerful. Dr. Larsen is the best! I have been his patient for about 25 years! I do suggest that during COVID, the front door be left open for airing during COVID, according to the CDC recommendations. The office is so small and there were several patients and staff all in that small area. There were about 8 people in that small space. It did not feel safe for COVID. Since I was already fully vaccinated, I was not freaking out. Fear of COVID risk is one of the reasons I waited until I was fully vaccinated before going back to the eye doctor. But, for the others in the room, I hope they were protected,. I think EYE Center Optometric could do a better job of controlling the number of people in that front office, and should open the door to allow for fresh air exchange. Thank you.

Both my wife and I needed our glasses adjusted. We were able to get appointments within an hour of calling. The service was great and both our glasses are fitting much better!

Dr Chang is amazing. I am a patient with some challenging issues and she went above and beyond to address my concerns. I’m still waiting for a followup call (2days) on pricing from the office staff.

My only frustration was the technician who did my pre-exam didn’t seem to listen to my answers. She asked if I wore contacts and I said no I only wear glasses for distance. I read the letters on the wall with and without glasses. I told her the glasses are only for driving. I read the small print on the card without glasses. She was going to take the glasses to check their scrip then she asked me if I wore the glasses full time. Not a big deal just a little frustrating.

Everything went smoothly, staff was friendly and helpful and Dr. Lilly was great. And you have a nice selection of glasses.

In Folsom office, they can handle calls easily most of time. Let office decide when they need the help of central scheduling. This is a recurring problem. Next time I will put this review on YELP, GOOGLE AND FACEBOOK. BAD, BAD, BAD decision making if you care about patient satisfaction. Keeping patients means good service from phone call thru end of visit. You must understand this basic rule. So why do you continue to frustrate your valuable patients. The reception, environment, updated technologies, staff, and professionalism were very apparent in this vision center. Dr Larson explained aspects of my vision and results of retina detachment surgery before giving me my eye prescription for new glasses. When he was done I could see 20-20 which I probably could not do for a couple years. The measurements for my glasses were thorough taken by photos and with a ruler transcribed to the lenses in the frame. I’m looking forward to seeing everything and everyone again soon. You should too!

This is the first time I have had to deal with the accounting department and office manager and have to say, I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied. I have been waiting for a refund check and all I get is that I have to speak to the office manager. This person is always on the phone, off or handing an emergency situation. Maybe they should have a back up person?!? Also the new accounting system does not allow you to get a printout of the statement you need. Sure hope that improves and I get my almost $400 soon 🙁

That when adding all costs up for the client, that you are very clear. I felt like they were trying to sell me something extra by slipping it in. Customers don't like that approach. It makes you feel like you have to be on your guard to make sure you're not paying for something you don't need.Be frank, honest, and clear so customer can make a sound choice. If they want to buy a warranty, tell them at the end so it's easy to itemize what it is they are paying for. Thank you.

(I mentioned to her before I left that it was the best experience I've ever had shopping for glasses.) Dr. Larson is great per usual and that is the main reason for the 4-star rating. The other staff and services, specifically those on Intake, are deserving of a 1. But requiring a patient to have below a 99.6 or whatever your requirement is, almost always means that a woman who is ovulating or on her period will be unable to see you for a normal appointment Because it’s normal for our temp to be that high during certain times of the month. This is discriminating against an entire population of women over something they can’t control. And had i not been so embarrassed while i was in your office, i would’ve stated this but was shocked i was even being treated this way. Every other medical provider in the area considers anything over 100.3 to be a fever, since that is the actual definition of a fever, and requires an appointment cancellation should that be the case. Your policy needs to be revisited because it makes no sense at all and is highly highly discriminating. Extremely disappointed that I was even treated this way given I’ve been a patient for 20 years.

The technician was very patient and considerate. I think the exam may have taken a little longer because the equipment was on a table with wheels and tended to move easily. I had to hold on to the edge of the table to keep it from moving away from me, requiring more positioning and the monitor having to be refreshed. Seems to me the monitor should have been on a higher level than the equipment the patient uses. It was obviously hard on the technician's back. My eyes started to tire and sting toward the end because of looking at the focus point for long periods, and the blinking was hard to control, causing redoes. Please don't consider this as criticism, but suggestions of improvements that may save time and the technicians' back from having to bend over so much. I was a tester on this equipment at the Greenback office with new trainees years ago.

Quick and efficient visit. You need an ophthalmic image management system. I highly suggest you consider that offered by Topcon. It is much improved from their old EyeRoute.

Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the technician who performed the initial screenings, and the doctor who patiently answered all of my questions, to the contact lense specialist who also helped with a billing issue.

My visit was very comfortable and I had a great appointment with my doctor. She was professional, helpful, and understanding and I felt that she really wanted to help me find the best solution for my situation. I will definitely be returning to this location in the future. Dr. Larson is always a pleasure to work with. I was surprised that the bill was $600+ for an exam and contact lenses. And with VSP Insurance, I was still billed $222 personally. $250 billed for contact lenses seems a bit high. I expected to be billed $45 for one test and was shocked to see three tests billed at $203.

Every single person I encountered (both on the phone and in the office) was kind, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and happy to have my business. I have never had an experience as wonderful as I had with Dr. Tomita and her staff. I have found my new optometry office for life!

My all around experience was great. I would have liked to have known when I came in for my initial I exam that I was going to be billed differently for contact lenses and glasses. Turn expected charges was a bit of a setback for me. All in all the staff was great.

Service and facility was amazing, however I was expecting the fee for my glasses to be cheaper. I brought in a pair of my own glasses, and selected plastic lenses (low end) with anti-glare coating, and the price was $316. That seems really high for a prescription that is basically for reading. Seems I should have paid this for a new pair glasses.

First time Vision Test experience was made better with Eyecentric. Dr.Joseph Lilly was very knowledgeable and knows how to identify your problem with right questions. The state of the art equipment was first of the kind I’m seeing at a optometrist office. And the staff was friendly and explained and conducted every test with patience.

Dr Larson was great as usual and provided really useful information. Did not like that on checkout you put in for the exam AND materials to VSP even though I didn’t order glasses. That delays my ordering them elsewhere. I had to wait 30 min. on the phone with VSP to get that changed.

The doctor and the lady that helped me select the eye glasses did a good job. My only concern is the glasses were on the expensive side even after using the insurance. My other concern is that it will take 2 weeks to get my eye glasses.

Dr Larson and his team were the only ones that could see me the same day after i had to get my eye check out. Maybe even faster than an er. Had to drive a couple of hours to get there and I am glad I did. He could not fix my problem but arranged and specialist to see me right away. After meeting dr Larson and his team I knew I was in good hands and my eye problem will be taken care of by the best in the field. Thanks dr Larson and Eye center optometric

Good experience at the office. Only gave 4 stars because when I called trying to set up an appointment the lady who answered was not very friendly. It sounded like she was getting frustrated at me for things like me not knowing if I had some printed off chart from my last eye exam. I was calling to do whatever it took to get glasses...including another eye exam. If this place didnt have such good reviews on Google I would have not done business with you guys. At the office I ended up having a great experience. Not sure if the lady who was rude to me was working or not when I was there.

Feedback for improvement. The young lady who took my family to the exam room did not close the door, but proceeded to ask us questions about medication and major surgeries. I closed the door as there was someone walking by and felt like it was a violation of our privacy.

I now live in Walnut Creek and went to a local eye doctor. Afterwards I had trouble with my vision. I booked an appt. With Dr. Larson (who was my previous eye doctor) and found out my contacts were wrong and my vision hadn't changed. It is worth it for me to drive 1 1/2 hours to know I will be getting excellent eye care.
